Create an accountDiagrams for the stitches are presented clearly with a few per page. One of the things I like best about this is the way that different options for the stitch (for example horizontal and vertical) are presented in one diagram. This is so helpful for getting ideas because it gives you a better view of how the stitch will look on the canvas.
I also like that by combining Lite Stitches with more traditional stitches in one book, you get a huge set of possibilities.Stitch with a thinner thread and you get a lit stitch. Use a thread with normal coverage for your canvas and you’ve discovered a new stitch. I did just this with a canvas last week (lite stitch + thicker thread) and loved the result.
Because many of the lite stitches are open you can’t do this with all of them, but why not put an open stitch in a thin thread over an area already stitched? I’m going to try this next.
The Portable Stitches books are a wonderful size to fit in your project bag, which is another plus. I only wish there was a bit of explanation, maybe just a page, on how to do lite stitching.
But a fantastic book to add to your library.
