Ariadne By Carole H. Lake and Michael E. Boren

out of stock

Ariadne is a quilt-inspired stitch sampler. It’s an intermediate-level counted canvas design which uses creative thread blending in the needle to create a third color value from light and dark values of solid and hand-dyed threads. So not only do you have a lovely piece that is fun to stitch, you will learn about thread blending and color as well. The finished design size is approximately 6.25 inches square. The working canvas is 13 inches square.

Arabella is worked on 18-mono canvas. It features threads from the Caron Collection: Waterlilies, Impressions, and Soie Cristale; plus Kreinik braids. Unlike Daphne and Arabella, the Ariadne colorways are a swirl of two different colors of Waterlilies. This is the perfect finish to the threesome.

Stitches used in the design include: Sprats Head, Walneto, Milanese, Rice stitch variations, Scotch Squares variations, Rhodes stitches, Backstitch, Slanted Gobelin, Woven Cross, Milanese, and Plaited stitch.

There are a total of nine colorway options for Ariadne, all named after their primary Waterlilies combination. The first five coordinate with the Daphne and Arabella colorways, and the last four were created just for Ariadne.
